Gigi Hadid Jetsetter Palette Review

When I first found out that Gigi Hadid was going to launch her own makeup line with Maybelline New York, I was honestly a little bit skeptical. There have already been so many celebrity collabs with makeup brands lately that I wondered if anyone else can top Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty line, among others. Here is my first-hand (honest) scoop on her Jetsetter Palette!

The palette itself comes with a holographic sleeve. TheΒ packaging is a nice light blush color with a matte finish. The mirror is really big, but the palette might be a little too bulky to travel with (unless it’s really worth bringing everywhere). The palette color and the brushes that come with it reminds me of Kim Kardashian’s KKW line. I’m personally a fan of the color choice though.

This palette comes with the ff:
2 concealer shades
2 lip balm shades
1 shimmery eye shadow, 3 matte eyeshadows
1 blush, 1 contour shade, 1 highlighter
1 travel-size mascara
1 dual-ended eyeshadow brush, 1 mini powder brush

At first glance all the shades in the palette seem wearable, but I was personally not a fan of the eyeshadow colors in the palette (the colors are either super light or super dark, no in-between crease shades).

First up, the CONCEALERS:

It comes with 2 shades – one that is too light for my skin, and the other that’s too dark. I’m an NC35 in MAC and there seemed to be no shade perfect for my tone in the palette. I know that you could mix the shades, but *ain’t nobody got time for that* lol! I’d rather carry 1 perfect shade with me rather than stress myself in mixing two shades all the time.

The concealer itself was really thin – it doesn’t seem to be that good in terms of coverage.

The lip balms came in two shades. I was a little bit excited to try the Nude shade because it looked so pretty, but it turned out too light for my skin. The color of the Pink shade was really nice though.

The formula is not thick at all, so it might moisturize the lips but only for a very short time. I wouldn’t rely on these lip balms alone (Carmex is life).

Don’t even bother with the blush brush. It’s so synthetic that it feels very stiff and horrible on the skin. It doesn’t pick-up product well either.

The dual-ended eyeshadow brush is pretty decent though – especially the blending brush! It’s not bad.

The eyeshadows were very chalky apart from the highlighter shade. SO. MUCH. FALLOUT.

The base shade is a very cool-toned pink that didn’t suit my skin (I looked dead). The crease and liner shades might be more complimentary to wider skin tones, and I am more willing to work with these shades than the others.

The highlighter eyeshadow is the best among the four shades. It’s buttery and the pigment is great. Great for topping up the other shadows, or for highlighting the inner corners of the eyes.

It was a difficult for me to apply the blush shade because the product was so narrowly placed in the palette. I would’ve imagined the blush to take up more space than the highlighter, but it didn’t! It was so easy to accidentally have some contour shade in your brush while trying to get the blush product on.

The blush was too pink for my liking, but the contour shade color is not bad.

In terms of formulas, the blush and contour shades were also very chalky like the eyeshadows. One thing I can say though is that despite being chalky, the shades were very pigmented.Β  A little tap with a brush is already a lot. I’m not 100% confident about its lasting power though. Upon application, the product seems to just sit on top of the skin.

As for the highlighter – I LOVE IT. I think this is the best product that the palette has. I would totally wear the highlighter because it’s so buttery, and the shade is gorgeous! It’s comparable to Urban Decay’s highlighters (with slightly more visible glitter specks).

I was very disappointed with the matte powder products – eyeshadows, blush, and bronzer. Too chalky and not easy to pick-up. Definitely not going to be reaching for those in the palette.

Look at this fallout!

One thing I love though is the mini Colossal mascara! Will be carrying this around in my bag for mascara touch-ups.

Another favorite from the palette is the highlighter of course! It gave me the perfect glow to my skin. I applied it with a Real Techniques brush.

But would I really be carrying the whole palette just to use this highlighter? Maybe not. I have a travel-sized Becca that’s 1/8 the size of the palette and does the job for me.

So is this palette worth your $29.99?

If you’re a die-hard Gigi Hadid fan who wants to support her new endeavor, maybe yes.

Otherwise, don’t waste your money! The standout products in the palette are not enough to spend almost $30 on.

The packaging gave me slightly higher hopes but I was a little bit disappointed with the products inside. It’s pretty to look at though (and that mirror is huge!).

What did you think of this palette? Were you a fan, or did you have the same thoughts as me? Let me know below. πŸ˜‰

Ole Henriksen Uplifting Transformation Eye Gel Review

I know that it’s been a minute since I last had a blog post, but life happened, and now I’m back! πŸ˜‰

I recently just moved to New York and I joined an online beauty community called Octoly. Through them, I received this new eye cream I chose from Ole Henriksen. I was so drawn to the product claims and I got so excited to receive it in the mail!

Tones, hydrates & targets fine lines & winkles, with cucumber & algae extracts bio-peptide.

Uplifting Transformation Eye Gel is a hydrating nightly ritual that tones and soothes the delicate eye area while diminishing the look of crow’s-feet. Wake up to a refreshed, healthy-looking Ole Glow!

My eye concern revolves around puffiness and dryness over dark-circles (Asian-eye problems lol), so if you have the same concerns this eye cream might work great for you too.

The Product: Packaging, Smell, Texture

Photo Oct 21, 12 12 04 PM

The packaging is a 15ML tub with a velvet-y finish. It’s not heavy like other glass-jar eye creams so it will be easy to travel with!

The product comes in a clear gel-type formula. It smells fresh (thanks to the cucumber) yet it isn’t overpowering.

Photo Oct 21, 12 12 39 PM

The gel is pretty dense so the product really sticks to your skin. You really don’t need a lot to apply this. I apply a little bit under my eye, and spread the remaining product on my lids.

Review Upon Application

The verdict – I LOVE it!

The brand recommends applying this at night, but I’ve tried it for both evening and morning and they work great.

In the morning, the cream acts as a priming base for moisturizers/concealers. The gel is cooling so my eye area feels instantly refreshed. You have to let the product sink in a little bit because initially it will feel tacky.

In the evening, I feel as though the cream keeps my skin hydrated throughout the night so that when I wake up the next morning, my eye area isn’t dry.

I’m glad I found the perfect eye cream that hydrates and de-puffs my eye area especially that the weather is getting colder. Anti-aging benefits are a plus too, now that I’m in my mid-20s.

Happy beginning of fall and I hope this review helped you!

Lash Primer Battle: Benefit VS JCat

Before anything, I want to tell you guys that I. HAVE. NO. LASHES. HAHA

Okay, I’m exaggerating. But really, I barely have any lashes! Putting a mascara alone isn’t enough to open up my eyes, so I swear by a good lash primer.

My holy grail lash primer is Lancome’s Cils Booster XL Super-Enhancing Macara Base ($25.50) . It’s in my May Wishlist. But I always love to try new products (and find more afforadable dupes), so here I am testing two lash primers: the Benefit They’re Real Tinted Lash Primer ($24) VS the JCat Lash Primer Mascara ($5.99 !!!).

APPLIED: Benefit They’re Real Primer

On this eye, I applied Benefit’s Lash Primer. Since it’s tinted, it didn’t leave any white fiber on my lashes. It wasn’t clumpy at all. But I couldn’t tell from the primer alone if it was going to volumize my lashes after mascara.

APPLIED: JCat Primer

On this eye, I applied JCat’s Lash Primer. The product left a pretty clumpy amount of fiber once applied, but it seemed more volumizing than the Benefit one. When it dries, it stays white.

Showing you a before and after photo looking at the camera, and looking down. πŸ˜‰
The primer definitely volumized and lengthened my lashes, though it looked a little clumpy after. Nothing a lash comb can’t fix though.

For the JCat Primer, my mascara applied with almost no clumps! It lengthened my lashes to a great extent. The effect of the primer looked more subtle than the Benefit primer.

Left: Benefit; Right: JCat

The JCat primer was definitely more lengthening, and the Benefit primer was more volumizing.

Left: Benefit; Right: JCat

You can tell here that the Jcat side is longer than the Benefit side. The JCat side is also less clumpy. Not bad at all for such an affordable price!

Although not that noticeable, the JCat side wasn’t as black as the Benefit side (maybe it’s because of the white cast from the primer). If you like your lashes to be extra BLACK, then this specific JCat primer isn’t for you (they have other non-white primers too though).

In terms of removing the mascara and primer, Benefit was easier to take off. The JCat primer was more difficult to remove as it stuck to my lashes more. Also, when you remove the mascara from your JCat primer, there are still white fibers stuck to it! Just use a good oil-based remover to make the process easier.

I like the effect of the JCat lash primer more because it’s less clumpy and it makes my lashes look really long!
It retails for $5.99 only so you can’t go wrong with that!

What’s YOUR favorite lash primer? Let me know in the comments below!

Beauty Wish List May 2017

I’m sure you’re all familiar with that list of beauty products jotted down on a pad or constantly embedded in your mind, which you always dream of having in your very own vanity. More than being a list to merely go back to, it’s a list that inspires us to work harder (so we can buy them all lol). Here is my beauty wish list for the month of May!

Sunday Riley Sleeping Night Oil, $105
Okay so I’ve been pretty loyal with my Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum, as it literally changed my life. I wake up in the morning with a radiant and smooth skin. Sometimes I do wonder how Sunday Riley’s Sleeping Night Oil would compare (it’s also just as expensive as the Estee Lauder ANR Serum)

Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream, $30
I don’t suffer from dark circles but I do have puffy eyelids in the morning (asian eyes problems). Would love to try this GinZing cream!

Smashbox Iconic Photo Finish Foundation Primer, $36
Beauty gurus like Tati have been raving about Smashbox primers. Currently trying to finish my Urban Decay Brightening & Tightening Complexion Primer Potion.

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, $30
My favorite high-end concealer, hands down.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
Collection Lasting Perfection concealer, $13
I’ve been wanting to try this since Zoella mentioned it years ago, but I just haven’t had the chance to find it. (Should’ve ordered it on Amazon while I was in the States!)

NARS One Shocking Moment Blush Palette
Nars One Shocking Moment Blush Palette, $69
All-in-one face palette. Too pretty to look at.

Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Liquid Lip Creme in Fawn Over Me, $30
I tried this in my local Sephora while I was in New York. LOVED the formula of it. It was satin-y but not shiny, and there was no weird smell. It’s just a little too pricey for a liquid lipstick (I bought a NYX Lingerie in Ruffled Trim instead… for now(?)).

Cils Booster XL
Lancome Cils Booster XL lash primer, $25.5
Tried this years ago and haven’t able to repurchase it yet.

Dose of Colors Baked Browns palette, $32
I blame Kathleen Lights for making me want this palette haha!

Image result for nyx ultimate eyeshadow palette
NYX Ultimate Eyeshadow Palette in Warm, $17.99
Yet another warm palette. Surprise, surprise!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette, $42

I think this palette is what I want to have the MOST in this entire list. So pretty!!!

Kylie Cosmetics Kyshadow Burgundy Palette, $42
As you can see I may be a little obsessed with warm-toned eyeshadow palettes that have reds and burgundies.

Smashbox Cover Shot Eye Palette in Ablaze, $29
Just look at those reds!!! *cries*

Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita Eyeshadow Palette, $53
This is one helluv-an expensive eyeshadow palette but Charlotte Tilbury’s Youtube tutorials are drawing me closer and closer to it.

That’s about it for my beauty wish list for this month! Will keep referring back to this list to daydream about these products. One day I will get them! πŸ˜‰ Let me know YOUR dream products and if you have tried any of these!

New York Winter Skincare Routine (Day-Night!)

Two months into New York winter and I’m proud to say my skin is still doing great! Winter has been on and off here. Some days are a lot warmer (like Spring), some days, the temperature is negative. It’s always best to prepare your skin for sudden changes in weather!

If there really is anything I can’t live without when we talk about beauty, it’s skincare (yes, more than makeup *gasp*). I love how skincare products can refresh you in the morning, and relax you before bed at night.

I change up the products I use quite often depending on the climate and on my mood (lol), but for the most part, the steps you see below are pretty much what I follow everyday. Read on to see my day and night skincare routine in New York! I’ve marked in PINK my holy grail/favorite products πŸ˜‰

1: MAC Lightful Marine Bright Formula Cleanser
This is my first tube of facial cleanser from the Lightful range. I’d say that this is a pretty good foamy cleanser that slightly brightens the face and gets rid of dirt, but nothing more. The smell is fresh but there is this slightly chemical after-smell that I don’t like (but can ignore). It doesn’t smell as good as the softening lotion in the same range though. I wouldn’t mind trying other cleansers once I finish using this.

2: MAC Lightful Marine Bright Formula Softening Lotion
THIS IS MY HOLY GRAIL DAY TONER. I cannot love this product more!
I think I’ve used more than 5 bottles of this already.
You know how after cleansing your face, you’d think your face is already clean? This toner will surprise you because of the dirt it’s able to pick up even after cleansing! I love the citrus-y smell, and it leaves my skin looking glowy. If you haven’t tried this, you must ASAP!

3: MAC Lightful Marine Bright Formula Essence
This is also the first time I’m trying this in the Lightful range. I can’t say so much yet as I’ve only started using this, but so far it’s just been okay, not phenomenal. It wouldn’t hurt me if I didn’t include this in my morning skincare. It does plump my skin though. But most of the time, it simply feels like an extra layer of moisture on my face.

4: The Face Shop Yehwadam Revitalizing Eye Cream
I’ve discussed The Face Shop’s Yehwadam line before. This eye cream is dense but it takes some time to become absorbed. My eye concern isn’t so much on dark circles, but more of dryness, so what I look for in an eye cream is simply for hydration.

5: Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream | The Face Shop Yehwadam Revitalizing Cream
I switch between two moisturizers during the day (because why not).

If you want a moisturizer that stays on your face, you should try the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream! When I apply this on, my dry skin is instantly replenished, and it can withstand whatever dryness I’m about to face during the day. It’s fragrance-free too. Love love love this product!

I alternate the Kiehl’s cream with The Face Shop’s Revitalizing Cream. I love the herbal smell and this cream leaves my skin so supple after application. I wouldn’t use this cream in the summer though as it can get too thick.

6: The Face Shop Natural Sunscreen
Sunscreen is one of the products you don’t really have to splurge on because you can get through them quite quickly! I love this sunscreen because it’s hydrating but not shiny (ugh I hate shiny sun screen), and it’s a great base for makeup.

7: Carmex Lip Balm
Another ride-or-die product! I just love this lip balm to death! It has SPF 15, and it leaves my lips deeply moisturized. It has a slight minty feeling on the lips and the moisture actually sinks in rather than just sit on top of your lips.

Before I go into my night skincare routine, I use 1-2 of these makeup removing products depending on how heavy my makeup is (or if I’m wearing any at all) during that day.

Biore Cleansing Oil
This is a dupe to Shu Uemura’s cleansing oil. I use this when I’m wearing heavier makeup. I love the smell, and it removes waterproof makeup really well! I massage this onto my dry face and work it with water until it comes off.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
I normally use Bioderma’s Micellar Water, but I’m currently trying Garnier’s version! I love this product especially since it’s a fraction of the cost of Bioderma. I use this every night before using a facial cleanser.

Simple Kind To Skin Cleansing Wipes
This is for those lazy days when I just want to remove my makeup fast. It removes makeup pretty well and it has no funky smell, but I’m not really a fan of the material of the wipes as it can be pretty rough on my sensitive skin.

On to my night routine! I use some of these products during the day so I won’t elaborate so much on those! πŸ˜‰

1: MAC Lightful Marine Bright Formula Cleanser

2: The Face Shop Yehwadam Revitalizing Toner
I use this toner to prep my skin before the next steps. It’s a refreshing and simple toner to have in your skincare routine. I don’t think it does anything special though.

3: Sheet Masks
When my skin needs extra help, I put a sheet mask on. They’re available everywhere lately. There are masks for every skin concern – be it acne, dryness, uneven skintone, etc.! It’s a great way to give your skin the boost it needs! I usually put one on the night before a big shoot or event. πŸ˜‰

4: The Face Shop Yehwadam Revitalizing Eye Cream

5: Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum
How can I live without this product???
This is a product that my mom has used since her early 20s. She was actually the one who told me to start using this.

You apply this before your moisturizer at night, and when you wake up in the morning your skin looks so fresh and blemish-free. I live for this product. It’s worth every cent!

6: The Face Shop Yehwadam Revitalizing Serum
I think this is my favorite product from this line. Whenever I don’t use Estee Lauder’s ANR Serum, I use this (sometimes I like to “save” my ANR serum lol). I also put this in the morning sometimes! It’s a way for me to amplify my basic moisturizer.

7: Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Cream
I’ve just discovered this product recently. It has a cucumber-y fresh (pun unintended) smell which I love so much. It’s not greasy but it’s dense enough to keep my dry patches away. It goes so well with my Estee Lauder serum. ❀

8: Dr. Belmeur Daily Repair Moisturizing Lip Balm
I’ve actually used this lip balm in winters of both Seoul and New York. It lives up to its name! It doesn’t sink in as fast as Carmex, but I love applying this before bed as it gives me enough hydration throughout the night. Those indoor heaters can be so harsh on our skin while we sleep!

A bare-faced me!

Those are all the products I use day and night here in New York.

I love trying new products so let me know your recommendations! I’ll be trying them out once I finish what I currently have (I hate wasting products haha).

I’ll be posting my skincare wish list soon too. See you in my next post! πŸ˜‰

Makeup Haul: Jcat

Jcat cosmetics just recently launched in the Philippines, and I was able to get a few things from them in their bazaar last December. They come all the way from The US! Jcat is fairly priced, and they are more known for bolder and crazier makeup fronted by matte lipsticks that come in gorgeous browns, reds, to blues!

Cute Jcat paperbags ❀

Read on to see which the products I got, the swatches, and the prices of each.

Jcat Haul.jpg

I’ve been wanting a pencil-type of brush for the longest time. The label says it’s a crease brush, but I personally use the tapered end of this brush to apply eyeshadow on my lower lash line. It has synthetic bristles but it’s gentle enough to blend my eyeshadow on my lash line.

Retails for P249.00

This is similar to NYX’ Jumbo Eye Pencil. The formula is super creamy so it’s perfect on the eyelids with or without eyeshadow on top. Currently obsessing over these red/cranberry shades!

Retails for P279.00

(1) Soft Matte Lip Cooler in Frozen Choco

Soft Matte Lip Cooler in Frozen Choco

Their Soft Matte Lip Cooler in Frozen Choco is a bright peachy lip creme that resembles NYX Soft Matte Lip Creme’s formula. It really does have a ‘cooling’ effect on the lip once applied. It dries matte with a bit of satin sheen.

Retails for P369.00

(2) Lipfinity Matte Kissproof in LMK 104

Lipfinity in LMK 104

The Lipfinity liquid lipstick dried completely matte and they are ‘kiss-proof’. You just have to be careful when applying it as it can appear patchy if you don’t apply it evenly on your lips (as do most other liquid lipsticks).
Love the 90s vibe that this lip color gives though!

Retails for P299.00

These highlighters got me SO EXCITED! The products look so pretty in the packaging alone that you just want to stare at them all day (lol).

(1) You Glow Girl Baked Highlighter in PINK GODDESS

I mean, look at that texture!

This is a rosy pink-toned highlighter (though it looks somewhat orange-y in the photo) that is SUPER PIGMENTED (be careful) so you don’t need too much on your brush.

Here’s a quick before and after shot. It gives such a beautiful glow to your cheekbones!

Retails for P599.00

(2) You Glow Girl Baked Highlighter in TWILIGHT

Now this highlighter is more on the bronze-y side. This will look even better if your skin is a bit more tan!

This highlighter will give you a more sun-kissed look.

Retails for P599.00

Wearing the Lipfinity Matte Kissproof in LMK104!

So far I’m loving everything that I got from Jcat. I might actually try out some of their other products soon. πŸ˜‰

If you want to know more about then and their product range, check out their website.
Hope you enjoyed my little Jcat haul + review!

Moisture Touch Lipsticks Review (Cool-toned edition!)

Happy New Year! Hope you all had an amazing holiday break.

What better way to start the year than with another lipstick swatch post (lol I just love lipsticks)?

In the 3-day workshop we had in Seoul with The Face Shop, a professional image consultant helped us find our personal color. Mine happened to be cool-toned (not warm, to my dismay lol), so I brought home with me 6 cool-toned lipsticks to start wearing.

TFS Moisture Touch Lipstick.jpg
The Face Shop Moisture Touch Lipsticks

The formula of The Face Shop’s Moisture Touch Lipsticks, are very creamy and opaque. If you want a lighter coverage on the lips, you can slightly dab the lipstick on your lips and blend with your fingers after. For a more opaque finish, you can apply the lipstick straight to your lips even with just one swipe.

These lipsticks are so moisturizing that I don’t feel the need to apply lip balm before it! It’s perfect for those who have dry lips.

Here I’ve swatched the lipsticks on my lips. Mouse over the images to see the specific names of the lipsticks.

Which one do you think looks best on me? I personally love Purple Fantasy! Let me know what you think. πŸ˜‰

Slimming Services Review: Big Day Slim

BDS Machines.jpg

This is my very first time to try a slimming service so I was quite excited, to be honest!

The Big Day Slim is a non-invasive slimming service company that will help you get ready for your Big Day – be it a wedding, a debut, or a trip to the beach – at the comfort of your own home. They claim to help you lose inches off your waist, thighs, abdomen, and arms.

I’ve tried both their Lipocavitation and Radiofrequency services on my arms and thighs, to see which is better for me. Read on below to see my review! πŸ˜‰

Lipocavitation Slimming Service

This service uses ultrasonic waves to melt stubborn fat. They say that the body will continue to burn fat even after the day of the treatment.

Cost: Php 1,700 for abdomen; Php 1,700 for thighsTime: 40 minutes each body part

My Experience:
Apparently, this service melts fat but doesn’t tighten.
They first apply a clear cream on your body, then the pulse starts to beep constantly for 30-40 minutes. I found this slightly irritating to my ears but I was able to complete the session since there was no pain at all.

Result: lost 0.5 in off my waist and thighs, respectively

Radiofrequency Cream.JPG
Radiofrequency Service (and a little cameo from my dog! haha)

This service uses radiofrequency energy to destroy fat cells. It has the added benefit of cellulite reduction and collagen production on top of inches lost. They recommend doing this 2 weeks prior to your big day.

Cost: Php 1,300 for abdomen; Php 1,300 for thighs (cheaper than the Lipocavitation!)

Time: 40 minutes each body part

My Experience:
The therapist will first apply a white cream, and the knob will be massaged in a circular motion against your skin. It it slightly warm to touch in the beginning, but I found it quite relaxing after a few minutes. It may be slightly painful to others but you can always ask the therapist to adjust the pulse frequency according to your preference.
After the treatment, my stomach and legs were slightly red from the vibrations.

Result: lost 0.5 in off my waist. (same as lipocavitation)

Radiofrequency Handle.JPG
Radiofrequency on my abdomen
Radiofrequency thighs.JPG
Radiofrequency on my thighs

Along with the slimming treatments, you can bundle pampering services too! I personally included foot spa service to my treatment (I love a good foot spa).

Overall, I prefer the Radiofrequency treatment, but I can say that both services were effective!

Check out their website at for more info on their services!

Korean Skincare: The Face Shop’s Yehwadam and Dr. Belmeur Lines

The Face Shop’s Yehwadam Line: coming out January 2017 in Manila
The Face Shop’s Dr. Belmeur Line: coming out April 2017 in Manila

If you think that Korean skincare products can’t get any better, you have it wrong! The Face Shop Korea just came out with their latest skincare lines called Yehwadam and Dr. Belmeur.

Look at this cute packaging ❀

When we talk of skincare made from traditional herbs, we may think that it’s only for more mature women. The Face Shop’s Yehwadam line breaks that misconception!

With the idea of using Korean natural ingredients to balance vital energy and blood circulation, this line consists of a thick but non-sticky formula that has anti-wrinkle functions and intensely moisturizing benefits – perfect for women in their 20s-30s.

Yehwadam Ingredients (L-R): Goji Berry (glow), Safflower (skin tone improvement); Korean Ginseng (revitalizing)
(L-R) Revitalizing Toner, Revitalizing Emulsion, Revitalizing Serum; (Top) Revitalizing Eye Cream; (Bottom) Revitalizing Cream

Lightweight formula instantly refreshes and moisturizes the skin after cleansing

Apply to further revitalize the skin

Serum (the star product of the line!)
Formulated with extracts of seeds, roots, flowers, and fruits from Korean herbs to give you that healthy glow
Sticky at first but smooth when applied on skin

Eye Cream
Highly dense, balm-like cream to moisturize the eyes
Can be applied to other areas that get dry such as the sides of the nose, or around the lips

Apply this revitalizing cream to seal all of the products in! πŸ˜‰

(L-R): Foam Cleanser, Toner, Ato Salt Cream, Moisturizer

From the French word “bel” which means lovely/happy, Dr. Belmeur is actually not a name of a dermatologist, but it is the Face Shop’s very own cosmoceutical* line to solve the daily concerns of people with sensitive and/or oily skin types!

As city people, we are all familiar with clogged pores due to the fine dust surrounding us (boo pollution!). Dr. Belmeur is here to save us – without irritating our skin!

*cosmoceutical: skin solutions that combine cosmetics with dermatological plant-based ingredients
Dr Belmeur.jpg
Comes in cute travel-friendly sizes too! (L-R): Cleanser, Toner, Moisturizer, Ato Salt Cream

All these products are fragrance-free, formulated with no additives, and dermatologically-tested so they are all gentle enough for everyday use.

DSCF2568.JPGThe star product of the line though is the Dr. Belmeur Ato Salt Cream. It contains 8% dead sea salt to provide deep moisturization and itch-relief for dry skin.

I tried this myself and I’m glad that I have found a new product that can help with my skin asthma! I applied this before going out to a -8 degree weather in Seoul. My skin stayed moisturized all throughout the cold day.

Yay for Korean skincare products! Hope you give them a try. It won’t disappoint. πŸ˜‰

Stay warm!

MAC Lipstick Collection (+ Swatches!)

To be honest with you, I was never really a fan of makeup before modeling. It was one of those things that was pretty to look at, but never something I personally wanted to collect.
Fast forward to today, makeup has literally become my source of happiness. I LOVE looking at it, using it, and collecting it.

Here are my MAC lipsticks which I’ve collected over the years through MAC jobs, personal purchases, and gifts. You will see how the colors look on my lips, and what they look like when swatched on my arms.
*Note that I have an olive skin color with a yellow undertone. πŸ˜‰
Hope this helps you in your future MAC lipstick purchases, and I hope you enjoy!

(I) My Everyday Lipsticks

These lipsticks are nudes that are easy to wear. Whenever I don’t want to think about what lip color to wear that day, I just pick from one of these. They are fail-proof and they go with almost any (or no) eye makeup!

Myth (Satin)
Believe it or not, this was the VERY FIRST MAC LIPSTICK I ever owned/bought! I got it because of YouTube’s Elle Fowler (but then I realized I am tan and she is fair, lol). It was when pure nude lipsticks were all the rage. Whenever I put it on alone though, it washes me out so I either mix it with other lipsticks when I want to desaturate a certain color, or I use it as a base for other lipstick colors to pop out more.

Jubilee (Lustre)
Don’t get intimidated by the color on the tube! It looks really brown but when you put it on, it’s a very subtle brown-nude with a slight shine. Lustre lipsticks are always lighter than they look vs. when applied!

Peach Blossom (Cremesheen)
As you can see from the first photo, this lipstick has been so overused it’s almost out. It’s the perfect pinky nude with a sheen. Perfect for everyday.

Shanghai Spice (Cremesheen)
This is a sheen nude with coral tones. Definitely complements warmer skin tones like mine!

Blankety (Amplified)
Amplified is one of my favorite lipstick formulas because what you see on the tube is literally what you get. This was actually a gift from one of my makeup artist friends (thanks Gery! haha). This is a pale-nude than can look a little gray when I’m darker than usual.

Velvet Teddy (Matte)
My current FAVE! It is a brown-nude lipstick with hints of pink. The formula doesn’t dry my lips out even if it’s matte!

Fast Play (Amplified)
I wear this when I want a more saturated lip color. It is great for both day and night. It’s a very subtle pink-berry that is really pigmented when applied.

Spirit (Satin)
That perfect 90s-brown lipstick color! Super creamy when applied because of its’ satin formula.

Kinda Sexy (Matte)
Highly-pigmented peachy nude. One of my favorites as well.

Please Me (Matte)
Highly-pigmented pink, but not overwhelmingly bright. It can still be worn for everyday without being too crazy.

(II) Pinks and Brights

Pinks and Brights1.jpg

The first few lipsticks I’ll show you are still wearable, but they are more on the pinks and corals, rather than nudes. The latter lipsticks are for when you want to spice up your lip color a little bit!

Pink Pearl of Pop (Cremesheen)
This is a pink lipstick that’s very light due to the Cremesheen formula.

Sunny Seoul (Cremesheen)
Very similar to Pink Pearl of Pop, it just has more of a peachy-pink tone.

Coral Bliss (Cremesheen)
Another everyday lipstick when you feel like wearing the perfect coral with a sheen.

Lovelorn (Lustre)
Pink with a slight blue/purple undertone.

Pink Nouveau (Satin)
Highly pigmented pink that is brighter than Please Me.

Snapdragon (Lustre)
Again, the tube looks crazy, but when you put it on it’s a bright pink that is still quite wearable.

Morange (Amplified)
Now this is when you want to rock a very orange lip. Amplified is awesome as always.

Flat Out Fabulous (Retro Matte)
This is my perfect magenta. It stays in the lips even after so many hours, and it brightens the color of my face.

Lustering (Lustre)
Darker than a pink, but lighter than a red. Perfect for when you can’t decide between the two colors!

Zen Rose (Sheen Supreme)
A magenta with some shine, but still highly pigmented and easier to apply than a Matte lipstick.

(III) Deep and Dark

D for Danger (Matte)
This is a matte red that has a some berry tones in it. Really great for a night look!

Russian Red (Matte)
I’m sure everyone knows about this shade. This is the perfect red lipstick.

Plumful (Lustre)
I wear this when I want a wearble purple on my lips. Since it’s a Lustre, it’s really easy to apply.

Up The Amp (Amplified)
This is also one of my favorite lipsticks just because it’s so different. It’s a bright bluish-purple but somehow, it works well on my skin tone.

Diva (Matte)
This is my go-to dark berry color. When I want more red tones, I just choose D for Danger instead.

So those were all my MAC lipsticks at the moment. Makeup is really a very personal thing. Not all the shades I like will be liked by others, so it’s really important to find the lipsticks that best work for you!
